Once upon a time, in a town called Jericho, there lived a blind man named Bartimaeus. He couldn’t see the beautiful world around him, and he spent his days sitting by the side of the road, asking people for help as they passed by.
One day, Bartimaeus heard a lot of noise and excitement coming from the road. He asked the people around him what was happening, and they told him that Jesus, a great teacher and healer, was passing through the town.
Bartimaeus had heard many stories about Jesus and the miracles he performed. He believed that Jesus could help him see again. So, he started calling out loudly, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”
Many people in the crowd told Bartimaeus to be quiet, but he didn’t listen. He knew this might be his only chance to meet Jesus, so he called out even louder, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”
Jesus heard Bartimaeus’ cries and stopped. He asked the people to bring Bartimaeus to him. When the blind man was brought to Jesus, Jesus asked him, “What do you want me to do for you?”
Bartimaeus replied, “Rabbi, I want to see.”
Jesus looked at Bartimaeus with kindness and said, “Go, your faith has healed you.” And at that very moment, a miracle happened – Bartimaeus could see!
Bartimaeus was overjoyed and grateful for the gift of sight. He immediately followed Jesus and became one of his followers, praising God for the miracle he had received.
The people who witnessed this amazing event were also filled with awe and praised God, realizing that Jesus was truly a special and powerful teacher sent by God.
And so, dear child, this is the story of the blind man Bartimaeus, who never gave up hope and whose faith in Jesus brought light and joy into his life.
